Oops, I did it again

No, I haven't seen Britney, but she is coming to town at the end of the month! Of course, I have no one to see her with, so I will just have to wish.

This is in reference to me locking us out of yet ANOTHER house. I did this last week after I went and picked up Joshua from school. I had taken my key off to go running and I purposely put it right next to my keychain so I wouldn't forget. and of course, I forget. I call Derek at work and I tell him what I did and all I hear is complete silence on the other end. For so long, that I actually thought he hung up on me. But all he said was, "I'm not saying anything." and proceeded to look up a locksmith for me. Luckily the weather was warm and I let Joshua play with his water toy much to his glee. At least this time I didn't have to lie to get them to open the door and it was our house. I should probably hide a key somewhere from now on....

In other news, Joshua has become a bit of a picky eater lately. Not sure if it's a control issue, or if he really doesn't like it. I think it's the appearance. Although, if it tastes really good to him, he has no problem eating things he may not at another point in time. Can't knock him for having good taste.....but in some desperation, I have been resorting to burying some veggies in muffins. I swore to myself that I would never do this, but I thought I would do it in order to get some extra veggies in him. Derek isn't complaining either because he is more than willing to eat it too. I made sweet potato muffins last week and they're a huge hit around here. I attempted to make it as healthy as possible, substituting Splenda blend, using whole wheat flour and using canola oil that has omega-3 in it. Here's a little pic of my mini muffins...made about 36, so we froze the rest.

Joshua and Derek started soccer this past weekend. He doesn't really have any interest in kicking the ball, so it was pretty comical watching him. I tried to hide and duck so it could just be Dad and J, but to no avail. So, I came out and played too. I won't be going anymore since this is quality Dad and Joshua time. He is also a little bit younger than most of the kids and when I see them and then Joshua, i can really tell the difference. For example, my child currently has no impulse control....so when the coach says line up against the wall and he puts out cones, Joshua runs for them to pick them up and rearrange them. We spent a lot of time holding him back! But he had a lot of fun because he had them running up and down the field (toddler size) a lot! He was pretty tired by the end of it! Here's a picture of him with the cones. He was suppose to tip it over with his feet and tip it back up....as you can tell, it didn't happen. :) He got great joy of picking them up and rearranging them.

2 questions:
1 - I don't understand how you locked your door without a key? Does it not require one to lock it as you leave the house?

2 - where is there "parent/child" soccer? That is so neat, J would LOVE that

How cute that Joshua is in soccer with his daddy. Can't wait to see more pictures of this. Gives you a nice break too!

Yeah, don't ever say you won't do something as a parent because you always have to eat your words. But could you send me that sweet potato muffin recipe? Soccer sounds very cute and bonding time with Daddy is always a huge hit!

Should you get a biometric door lock or something? You can't lose your fingerprints right :)

I would totally go see Britney w/ you. She's gonna be here tomorrow night and I thought ben got me tickets but he got them for the Killers instead. He thought having seen Brit twice was enough given that I am almost 31.

And as soon as you revel in the fact that your kid has a diverse palatte they change it up on you. Miles only wants to eat hot dogs - gross I know. Of course I make him other stuff but I have him drink the V8 Fusion to get some veggies. Even if it is a lame source.
