We went to the local mall to play at their playground and he had lots of fun! Spent most of the time running and running, but by the end he was climbing through everything. They had this train that was driving around the mall area and we thought about riding it until they told us it was $3 per person. Not for parent and child...per person!! That was $6 for an eight minute ride!! No way! So, we just took picture in front of it and touched it when it stopped.
After lunch we stopped by the 2-story carousel (anybody else think that's a little crazy?) to watch it and Joshua decided that he actually wanted to ride it! He has NEVER expressed any interest in riding the carousel, just happy to watch it go round. But he marched himself up and was ready to get on. So, off we went! I was very surprised and he was a little scared at first, but he loved waving to his PauPau every time we went around.
And our bravest moment came when we went to a little pumpkin patch and he wanted to feed the horses and go for a ride! He didn't want to pet them, just feed them grass. He had a lot of fun. I am so surprised, but I suppose this is something that comes with age. Of course I know lots of other kids his age that are much braver, but Joshua has always been cautious, so for us, this is a big thing!

Yeah for Joshua!! Watch out now, mom!
I would never have paid $3 each for the train ride either.
I've heard fun things about that mall, but we haven't gone to the play area yet.
I probably would have paid the $$ - I'm a sucker I guess. We ride the one in Hermann Park about every other zoo visit....at $2.50 per person
