Fall activities

October has arrived and I can't believe that it's already here!  We had a great week last week with the weather and staying busy.  We've been trying to help Derek get ready to leave for Dallas this week and just trying to hang out as a family as much as possible before he leaves.  We are going to be very sad when he leaves!
I got Joshua's Halloween costume for this year.  Everyone kept asking me what he was going to be and I said that whatever I found at this semi-annual consignment sale I go to is what he is going to be.  Drumroll please......he is going to be a giraffe!!! Hey, the costume is cute and it was only $5.  Worth it since he'll only wear it once!
I think that if Joshua could speak and if he understood the concept of Halloween, he would tell you that he would want to be a car.  If there's one on TV he watches.  If he hears one in the street he stops.  He chases them and loves to wait for them. We were in town this weekend for a festival and some fire trucks and ambulances drove by with sirens blaring.  I thought he was going to freak out with the noise, but he loved it.  Cries when the food processor runs, but not when a fire truck blaring its siren.  Weird!
In other news, we went apple picking last week with some friends.  This is definitely something we have never done in Texas.  It was a little windy that day, so we had to wear a hat for as long as we could keep on our heads.  We had a lot fun and got tons of fabulous apples.

you can always have him wear his costume twice like I'm making my kids do. Since we moved and no one saw them in them here and they still fit that's what they are going to have to do. for joshua that makes it only $2.50 per wear! that's more money for candy :)
