Snowmageddon

So it has been icing and snowing here in Dallas for the past 4 days. We have been stuck in the house since Tuesday and we have pretty much run out of things to do. The first 3 days we have had solid ice. Our driveway has a solid inch of ice on it and as entertainment, we have been going out and chipping away at it with a hammer. :) Can you tell we are snow prepared?

What have we done? Gone outside everyday regardless of the weather, eaten and baked brownies (we would make more, but we ran out of eggs the first day), made an obstacle course (which entertained us for about 5 minutes), sprayed the ice with different colors, played with all of our toys and watched a LOT of tv. Joshua hasn't gotten out of his pajamas for 3 days and I have been wearing the same sweatpants for two days (don't tell anyone that).By the evening we are all pretty crabby and exhausted even though we have done nothing! I can feel myself gaining weight as we continue to eat and stay in the house! It wouldn't be so bad if we expected this weather, but since we don't, it makes it a little rough.

Today we actually had real snow and we got about 5 inches! Crazy, huh? So, playing outside was a little more enjoyable. Our roads are completely covered and when we stood in it, we were a little over ankle deep! Here's some of our pics from the past couple of days.

Here we are playing with snow Texas style...rain boots, cute gloves that aren't waterproof, wind pants with another pair underneath and sitting on an inner tube to play in the snow. :)

Shoveling snow with our play shovel

Eating snow...this child is obsessed with eating the snow. He's freezing and I keep telling him not to, but he can't help himself!

Here we are enjoying our Hot Chocolate

Wow, that is quite a bit of snow!! Reminds me of a pic from CO. We only got .4 inches but the city shut down yesterday so it was a nice snow day w/ Daddy home!
