I built a house

Ok, not a real one, but I made a small house for Joshua to play with. Back story of this is that I noticed (and it's a distant 2nd, or even 3rd behind cars and trains) that Joshua does like playing with houses when we are out somewhere. Mainly obsessed with opening and closing the doors, but he likes to put the people in certain places too. Anyways, I didn't want to buy a house for him and all the stuff that goes with it, so I did some research and decided to make one for him. This is also because I needed something to keep my mind busy and this was a good project to do that with. My caveat was that I was only going to use what I had in the house. Including magazines and newspapers, this is what I had.

My other caveat was that I was going to try and get it done within a couple of days. Started today during naptime and finished after bed. It's definitely not the best, but I thought I did a pretty good job with what I had! Having to paint with washable paint and preschool paintbrushes...not too shabby if I say so myself! If you can't tell, it's a diaper box that I used and then I looked through magazines and newspaper that we had and cut out pictures of furniture.

Here's the front of the house:

The Living Room (it even has a flat screen!)

Kitchen (no table, but I don't have enough creativity or energy for that)

Upstairs (I know, no bathroom, but once again, low on time, creativity and energy! Besides, he can pee outside!)

Plus side....if he doesn't like it, i can recycle ALL of it!!

I love it! Very impressive. And what a great idea. I think I will definitely add that to my list of 100-degree-day-must-stay-indoor activities.

You go girl. How does Joshua like your creation? Has it stayed intact? In my house, unfortunately, destruction would occur within hours if not minutes.
