Yesterday we were reaching that point of the day where everyone was getting whiny and grouchy and waiting for Dad to come home. When I mentioned to Joshua (in the middle of his whining and sulking) that if he didn't behave Santa wouldn't bring presents for him, he stopped and here is our ensuing conversation:
J: "Santa is coming?"
Me: "Yes, he is. But not until after Thanksgiving. (I said this because the Santa is already coming to our mall this week! Too early!) If you're good, then we can go visit him and you can tell him what you would like."
J: "Is he coming to our house?"
Me: "Yes, to deliver presents."
J: "Will he come and visit?"
Me: "Not to just talk, but to drop off presents on Christmas Eve."
J: "Can I call him?"
Oh my goodness...and it went on for 10 minutes...he has never visited Santa except when he was 6 months old and I dropped him in his lap for a picture. After talking some more, he made sure that Mom and Dad were coming to talk to Santa also and then we spent the rest of the evening studying a toy catalogue (I'm getting like 2-4 a week now) and trying to decide what he was going to tell Santa what he wanted. Mom and Dad had to pick out something too...I picked a doll and Dad picked out a fire truck. We'll see if he is really going to talk to Santa or not...we may just be writing a letter instead. :)
Now that he's talking more we have some pretty funny conversations and he is really understanding and becoming more aware of his surroundings. It's neat to see the development and having these kind of conversations with him.

Those little conversations are so cute! You'll enjoy rereading them in a few years too. Thank goodness for blogs otherwise we may forget. Samuel thinks Santa is in heaven with God!
Those conversations are priceless. I'm so glad you are writting them down. I wish I had done that.
