That would be the phrase that I used the most while I was out skiing with the girls this past weekend. We headed to Breckenridge, CO to spend a weekend away and it was a great time. This was my first time skiing and I have to say that I was sufficiently scared, but did ok at skiing without lessons, just encouragement and patience from friends.
Like I said, snow plow would be my phrase for the weekend. That's what I used to stop myself while skiing and in the effort to stop myself, I would unconsciously shout and think, "SNOW PLOW" whenever I was trying to stop. I probably fell more than I actually skied, but by the 2nd run, I did much better. Not great, but better! The lifts were slightly terrifying to get off of, but I only fell off the first time....with the lift guy yelling at me, "Duck your head!!"
To top off the lovely weekend, we ended our day of skiing with a nice massage, which was great. I know have a sore bum, and a huge horizontal bruise developing on my knee where I fell and landed on my ski so a massage was much needed. But nothing broken, so a success!
Here are some awards to hand out to ourselves:
*Best Falls on her skis while standing still: Sarah
*Best Yelling in an attempt to stop herself skiing: Erika
*Best Chauffeur: Jill
*Best person to share your terror with about skiing: Lisa

impressive sis. definitely impressive. i doubt i'd do much better on skis myself, but snow plow? haha. very randommm. see you saturday!
Thanks for the award! You did great. You should be awarded for being so brave and getting out there when you didn't know what to do and the rest of us had a little more idea. That's very impressive. I probably could have been a much better coach right beside you the entire way down! Maybe next time!
Thanks for not giving me the Most Likely to Panic and Fall Off the Ski Lift Award! I thought it was a great time. We are definitely not expert skiiers, but it was fun, even if the 5 year olds were better than we were! (But I'm giggling just thinking about how many times you yelled "Snow plow!" at yourself!)
