Joshua has been going around these days chanting "Mamamam".....although he says it to anything among other consonants, does it count as his first word? I would love it if it does. What does everyon else think?
I think you can make it whatever you want. It is a word, after all, and a great one at that. Some people take those first sounds as a word, others, like me, were looking for meaning behind the sounds I heard before really calling it the first word. I'm probably in the minority in my thinking though, so don't listen to me!
I agree with Sarah. I think he has to point to you or something to show that he knows "who's the mama". Maybe you can pick up his hand and point it to you as he mumbles...
I think it can be whatever you want it to be! He'll attach a meaning to it soon enough. Before you know, he'll be talking non-stop. His pictures are adorable!

It's whatever you want it to be! Yeah Joshua! Samuel did not say "mommy" until 20 months. He only said "daddy".
